Summarizing Activity – Reading ELA

Use the Smartboard for this interactive activity on summarizing. Utilize the “Cube Creator” to develop summarized outlines for biographies, mysteries, creative stories, even a create your own cube where you can create your own topics and questions. This can be used as a whole class lesson on the Smartboard or individually by students during computer time.

Directions: Click “get started” and a new window will appear. In the Cube Creator, enter your name and select either Bio Cube, Mystery Cube. Story Cube, or Create Your Own Cube. Next, complete each side of the cube with the necessary information. Once you have completed one side, click a number to rotate the cube to the next side and the next set of questions. Remember to use complete sentences, spelling and grammar. Have fun! Play
